Introduction

Welcome to Peak Piano Studios! By scheduling a time slot, you are committing to music instruction for the term (current is Spring Session 2021, which runs from January 4 to June 27, 2021).

You will receive 35 music events during the 25-week period from January 4 to June 27 (18 individual private lessons, 10 group classes, 3 recitals & recital rehearsals, 3 micro-lessons). Please see the Spring Session 2021 Calendar.

Even if you are out of town or unavailable for one of your lessons, you are still responsible for payment in full for that month and will need to make arrangements for a make-up lesson. Makeups are offered for individual private lessons only—not for recitals, group classes, or other music event types. All makeups are held online.

Lesson tuition is the same each month and will not be adjusted for missed lessons. Instead, Peak Piano Studios will offer additional makeups/classes, if necessary.

Illness: If you are sick (cough, runny nose, fever, sore throat, etc) do not come to your lesson. We will have our lesson online at your normal lesson time. Students who display signs of illness will be dismissed. Please see the COVID-19 Policy (attached) for more details.

TardinessIf you are late or I am unable to connect with you, I will spend the first 15 minutes of your timeslot trying to get hold of you. I will place 2 phone calls to each parent and 3 calls to you, spaced several minutes apart.

If I Miss a Lesson: I will not reschedule or change your lesson without contacting you at least 3 days in advance. If I miss a lesson, you will receive a makeup. In this case, I will send out reminders to schedule makeups to ensure you receive the appropriate amount of lessons.

Make-ups:

All makeups are held online. You will receive a makeup credit for each missed lesson, up to 2 per month. Unused makeup credits expire after 60 days. Makeups are offered for private lessons only—not recitals or group lessons. Schedule your online makeup lesson at peakpiano.net/calendar. I will not track you down for makeups. If you want or need a makeup, it is your responsibility to sign up online. If you have problems with the site, please email peakpianostudios@gmail.com.

Recitals

Visit the Recital page

Recitals are required for all Piano Club students, and the cost is included in your lesson tuition. Three recitals are held during Spring Session 2021. Due to COVID-19, recitals will be held online on the Zoom platform. Recital dates are:

- February 24: Wednesday, February 24, at 5pm on Zoom. Exciting pieces and student compositions help students get back into shape after the winter break. Select students will perform memorized works in preparation for local music adjudications.

- May 4: Tuesday, May 4, at 5pm on Zoom. In this themed recital, students present works that explore the farthest reaches of the galaxy---and our imaginations. May the Fourth be with you!

- June 9: Wednesday, June 9, at 5pm on Zoom. Popular songs, student compositions, and jazz-inflected pieces---with a live band!* (in the era of Zoom, some elements will be pre-recorded).

At Peak Piano Studios, we focus on the FUN of performing pieces you love. We will show you how fun piano recitals can be!

Each student will be asked to perform one or two pieces they have worked on, demonstrating proper recital etiquette as well as a polished performance. This is an opportunity to build personal confidence, experience a semiprofessional environment, and establish camaraderie with other students.
